What is RIS?
The Regulation Information
System (RIS) is a web-enabled application for agencies to file regulations and
related items with the Virginia Registrar of Regulations for publication in the
Virginia Register of
Regulations.
RIS is linked with the Virginia Regulatory Town Hall to
facilitate the process agencies use for filing regulatory actions with Town
Hall for executive branch review and then filing such actions with the
Registrar's office for publication in the Virginia Register.
Agencies that do not file
through Town Hall (e.g., State Corporation Commission, universities, etc.) submit
projects directly from RIS.
Through the use of the
Regulation Information System, the Virginia Administrative Code
is updated daily, thus RIS provides the citizens of the Commonwealth with an
always current Virginia Administrative Code.
