The Virginia Register of Regulations is a comprehensive source of regulatory information that complements and supplements the Virginia Administrative Code.

An official publication of the Virginia Code Commission, the Register is published every other week throughout the year. Indexes are printed quarterly and are cumulative for each volume.

The text of proposed and final regulations, whether amended or newly adopted, is published in the Register. The Register also contains basis, purpose, substance and issues statements and summaries for each proposed regulation, as well as a detailed economic impact analysis. Any change between the proposed regulation and the final effective text is highlighted.

In addition, the Register contains other valuable information about state government, including petitions for rulemaking, emergency regulations, Governor's executive orders, state lottery regulations and director's orders, State Corporation Commission orders and regulations, Virginia Tax Bulletins from the Department of Taxation, and notices of public hearings on regulations.

The Virginia Register of Regulations is of particular interest to the legal profession, industry and business representatives, trade associations, health and welfare associations, consumer interest groups, and anyone else affected by state regulatory action.
